Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 13, 2026 Last Updated: April 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how FormulaXR ("FormulaXR", "we", "us") collects, uses, and handles information through the XRTracker software development kit (the "Software").

1. Who This Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the XRTracker SDK on all license tiers (Developer and Commercial).

2. What We Collect

Registration Data

When you register for a Developer license, we collect:

Data Purpose
Name Identify the licensee
Email License delivery and account lookup
Company (optional) Understand our user base
Machine ID Analytics only — Developer licenses are not machine-locked

Registration data is used solely for license generation, delivery, and account management. We do not use your email for marketing or share it with third parties. Registering with the same email returns your existing license rather than creating a new one.

Usage Metrics

The Software collects usage metrics — technical data about how the Software is used. We do not collect camera images, 3D models, tracking poses, or any content from your application.

Data Purpose Example
Platform Prioritize platform support "iOS", "Android", "Windows"
Device model Optimize for common hardware "iPhone 15 Pro", "Samsung Galaxy S24"
Unity version Ensure compatibility "6000.0.25f1"
XRTracker version Track adoption, identify outdated versions "1.0.0"
License tier Understand tier distribution "Developer", "Commercial"
Tracking mode Understand which features are used "Silhouette", "Edge"
Number of tracked bodies Understand typical workload "2"
Tracking quality Identify performance issues "0.85"
Machine identifier License compliance and abuse detection Device-specific ID
License identifier License compliance and abuse detection License-specific ID
Application identifier Understand deployment context "com.company.app"
Editor vs build Distinguish development from production "true" / "false"

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Camera images or video frames
  • Depth data or point clouds
  • Tracked object poses or trajectories
  • 3D models, mesh data, or vertex data
  • File paths, project names, or source code
  • Device name or hostname
  • Personal information (name, email, location)
  • Any content from your application

3. How We Collect It

Metrics are transmitted periodically (every 5 minutes during active sessions) over HTTPS to FormulaXR's metrics endpoint. Collection is non-blocking — it does not affect the Software's functionality, and failures are silent. An internet connection is not required for the Software to function.

4. How We Use It

We use collected metrics to:

  • Improve the Software — identify performance bottlenecks, prioritize platform support, and guide feature development
  • Ensure license compliance — detect unauthorized sharing of licenses across multiple machines
  • Understand usage patterns — know which tracking modes and features are actually used

We do not use metrics for:

  • Advertising or marketing targeting
  • Selling to third parties
  • Identifying individual users beyond license compliance

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share collected metrics with third parties, except:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting) under strict data processing agreements
  • When required by law — in response to valid legal process

6. Data Retention

Registration data (name, email, company) is retained for as long as your license is active and up to 12 months after expiry. You may request deletion of your registration data at any time by contacting privacy@formulaxr.com.

Usage metrics data is retained for up to 24 months from collection. Individual session records are deleted after 90 days. Aggregate statistics derived from metrics may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you may have rights regarding your data. If you have concerns about data collection, contact us — we are happy to answer questions about our data practices.

8. Children's Privacy

The Software is a professional development tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the documentation and noted in the changelog. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
